How publishing with Brasa works

Terms, deliverables and the step-by-step process to launch. We take care of the branding, the Steam page, marketing and the technical side of publishing, so you can focus on the game.

On your first game, Brasa takes 0%

Steam already keeps 30% of every sale, and taking more from someone who is just starting out helps nobody. Publishing with Brasa has no upfront cost.

The percentage on following games is agreed case by case, and only if both sides want to keep working together.

Illustrative simulation, before taxes and subject to Steam's rules. Not a sales promise.

The game stays yours. So does the money.

Steam pays directly into the bank account you registered in Steamworks. Brasa never receives the sales money on your behalf.

You're not alone

Steam is complex, and it's normal not to understand everything at first. We walk through every step with you.

  1. Publisher permission

In Steamworks, you add Brasa Interactive as publisher. You only grant the permission; you never lose control of your account.

  2. Partnership panel

Once permission is granted, Steam unlocks a partnership panel showing the developer-publisher relationship.

  3. Automatic split

If there is a percentage (from the second game onward), it is configured in that same panel, and Steam splits every payout on its own.

Why does this matter?

Launching without an audience is one of the most common mistakes new developers make. Since mid-2026, Steam's Personal Calendar has become one of the biggest sources of wishlists for indie games, showing upcoming titles for about two months before launch. Market references put roughly 8k to 30k wishlists as the range needed to be picked up by it, and well-prepared demos at events like Steam Next Fest help turn players into wishlists. That is exactly where we come in: the right page, demo, e-mail base and release date.

Ownership
The game and all its intellectual property stay yours. The agreement does not transfer any rights in the game to Brasa.
No cost
No upfront fee, no service fee and no recoupment of Brasa's costs. Paid advertising only if both sides agree in writing.
Non-exclusive
You have no obligation to publish future games with Brasa, and both sides can work with other partners.
Term
From signature until 12 months after launch, renewing automatically every 12 months.
Leave freely
Either side can end it at any time with 30 days' notice by e-mail, with no penalty.
The art
The art, pages and websites Brasa creates remain Brasa's and are licensed to you, free of charge, while the partnership lasts.
Your part
Deliver playable builds, keep supporting the game, approve deliverables within 7 days and credit Brasa as publisher.
No empty promises
We work hard to promote the game, but nobody can guarantee a number of wishlists or sales.

Common questions

Does Brasa receive the money from my sales?

Never. Steam pays directly into the bank account you registered in Steamworks.

Does the game remain mine?

Yes. You only grant publisher permission in Steamworks and never lose control of your account.

What about future games?
